A rare example of Tyrolean construction work can be found at the Devil’s Bridge, which was built in 1876. The bridge spans a narrow, deep gorge through which the wild Tuxer River thunders and roars.
Eispalast Hintertuxer Gletscher
The natural ice palace at the Hintertux glacier is a truly unique spectacle and the only such gem of nature world-wide. This adventure in the ice is a fantastic family outing available throughout the entire year. The entrance to the magnificent ice cave is 3 to 4-minute walk from the top station of the Gletscherbus 3 lift.
The entrance to an underground adventure lies below the Spannagelhaus on the Hintertux Glacier: The cave near the Spannagelhaus is unique and provides visitors with an insight into the high alpine karstification of crystals. With a length of 10 kilometres, it is considered to be the most important cave in Tyrol.
The gorge was made accessible to tourists in 1901 and is one the most beautiful gorges in the Alps. The hike through the Wolfsklamm in Stans (approx. 1 hour over bridges and gorges) is a wild and romantic experience for the whole family.
It is an impressive spectacle of nature to see the water plummet into the depths in three stages from a height of 380 m. The well-paved scenic path that leads along the waterfalls is a paradise for hikers and mountaineers.
The National Park House in Mittersill introduces guests to the fascinating alpine world. Find out all about Austria's highest mountain, the 3,798-metre-high Großglockner, and the 266 mountains in Austria which surpass the 3,000 metre mark. And another delightful attraction, one of the mightiest waterfalls of the world.
This is one of the few noble residences that has preserved so much of its original structure and furniture. The way in which the castle is presented makes every visit an unforgettable experience.
