Exploring the region by bike
There is virtually no limit to the number of bike tours available around Gerlos. Those who have already experienced the wind in their faces on one of these routes will be hard-pressed to imagine a better place for bikers. You can look forward to a wide range of tours against the backdrop of the main Alpine divide.
Isskogel tour:
Great circular route with spectacular views. If you take the cable car up, this tour is pure enjoyment. For those who would rather pedal up the mountain, add 700 metres of altitude difference to the route.
Distance: 18 kilometres, altitude difference: 950 metres, duration: 2 hours, fitness level: medium, riding technique: easy
Arena Panorama tour:
First of all, we take the Isskogelbahn cable car up to 1,900 metres. From there, you can enjoy spectacular views of the Zillertal Alps and their glaciers. We follow the panorama trail for more than 10 kilometres up to an altitude of nearly 2,000 metres, where we stop for refreshments at the Kreuzwiesenalmhütte. From there, a long descent leads over the Gerlosberg down to Zell am Ziller.
Distance: 25 kilometres, altitude difference: 1,910 metres, duration: 3 hours, fitness level: medium, riding technique: easy
Durlassboden-Speicher Lake Tour:
You can do the tour in both directions. It is a varied tour that includes trial passages at the northern banks of the lake and views of the glacier.
